Our Ethos

The ethos of Kennedy College Oxford (KCO) is created by the actions, conduct and speech of its members. All KCO members, staff and students, are asked to agree annually to support this ethos.  

KCO is an inclusive, positive, educational institution, with individual development and care at its heart. The College supports all its members to grow in confidence, ability and health, so that they flourish. Every day their talents and capabilities will increase in a safe, engaging environment.  

KCO fosters creative, individual, respectful thought. It challenges its members to develop their knowledge and understanding, whilst being mutually supportive and rigorous. It draws on the rich traditions of the city and University of Oxford to reveal new perspectives. 

Respect for family, national and international traditions and the natural world is paramount. Its members are encouraged to see themselves as part of a global human race, open to the potential of the world - past, present and future.  

KCO offers a space where people may grow in understanding of themselves, knowledge of the world around them and respect for others, so that they may stand as beacons of excellence and be of true service to that world, both human and natural.
